As part of the Estival Premiers Plans festival, La Plateforme’s technical team is organizing a technical and hands-on workshop: synchronizing image and sound, from filming to post-production.
Ensuring that images and sound are synchronized is an essential step in film production. From the shooting phase through to the end of post-production, best practices must be followed to ensure that the synchronization of the film’s various elements is maintained.
These involve technical tools that depend on the cameras and shooting conditions, as well as a precise understanding of the critical points and limitations of the production workflow.
In this workshop, we will share and experiment with our techniques and equipment, and we will be able to test the methods used in different situations and evaluate their benefits and limitations.
This workshop is intended for film technicians (cinematography, sound, post-production) as well as filmmakers (particularly documentary filmmakers, where the volume of footage shot requires efficient workflow) and, more generally, anyone involved in film production.
Schedule: Over the course of 3 hours, we’ll have filming (video and audio) and post-production equipment available to us, so we can tackle every possible scenario. We encourage you to bring your own equipment so we can cover the widest possible range of use cases. This will also be an opportunity for film and audiovisual professionals to network.
We recommend registering so we can better estimate the number of participants.
