Summer 1583. Obsessed with the idea of having an heir, a wealthy merchant puts his young wife, Isabelle, through hell. Charlotte, his maid, decides to take action. In the shadow of the great house, the servants organize in secret.

Pauline Clavel is a director, screenwriter and cinematographer who trained at ENS Louis-Lumière and at the Master Scénario et écritures audiovisuelles at Paris Nanterre University.
Coming from a theater background, Zoé Labasse studied at EHESS and then went on to complete a Master's degree in Screenwriting at Nanterre. She has directed several short films, notably Pourquoi parlez-vous si bas ?, co-directed with Pauline Broulis and selected and awarded at several festivals.
