Every day, Joëlle meets up with her retired friends on the Bain des Dames beach in Marseille. As if in an open-air theatre, they laugh, talk about love, sex, changing bodies, and remake the world with the freedom of those who no longer have anything to prove.

Born in Marseille, Margaux Fournier draws on her Mediterranean roots to fuel her creativity. After a cross- and multi-disciplinary career at Sciences Po Lille and La Fémis, she embarked on the production of her first short film, Au bain des dames (2025). Shot in her home town, the film is an intimate dive into the world of a group of 70-years-olds from Marseille.
