Homunculus
Bonheur Suprême

In a virtual world inspired by gay dating applications, a man wanders, pursuing other men. He realizes along his travels that people see him as an «Arab», some ambiguous, virile, and powerful entity both celebrated by white gay males and hated by French police forces.

Bonheur Suprême is a French artist born in Belfort (France) in 1994. He lives and works in Besançon. Using videogames and his own experience in gay social apps, his works are related to symbolic and real violence, modern productivist rythms, and relation with the Living in a saturated hyperreality. By turning the video-game characters he embodies away from their warlike or domineering posture, he paradoxically proposes a return to reality, where violence gives way to contemplation, crowds to solitude, noise to silence.
