Half way between a grating black comedy and a psychological thriller, Dominik Moll's film is surprising in the way it introduces a feeling of unease and uses to the full the idea of a family crisis during the holidays. The film is dominated by Harry, a very Hitchcockian villain, whose outward affability gradually cracks revealing his evil intent. Sergi Lopez's performance, hovering between innocence and Machiavellianism, comes up against Laurent Lucas as an intellectual, passive character who gradually gets devoured by the parasite who has wormed his way into his life.
