Screened at Cannes in 1993 in the selection Un Certain Regard, François Truffaut: stolen portraits pays tribute to "this filmmaker who never forgot those he loved and admired in his writings and films." Preceding Serge Toubiana's biography of reference, "François Truffaut", co-written four years later with Antoine de Baecque, this documentary explores the filmmaker's "family novel" and his deep love for cinema.
