"In the beginning I wanted to try and find jubilatory cinematographic to questions I found essential and modern, i.e. obstacles, desire, [the lack of] pleasure... Born in 1968, the question of pleasure and the moment is obviously fundamental for me... I wanted it to be entertaining, through an avatar, that I could enjoy myself with. It starts with a real name, plunging it into the unreal. It's also a game, at the end of the day, almost like a video game. I wanted the character to go on a journey, a journey of initiation. I wanted it to be a journey for the spectator as well. I wanted them to move forward in the film in the same way as you move forward in a maze, finally ending up alone in a forest. Alone with your own fantasies, your own wars" (B. Bonello).
