Trained at La Fémis, Alice Winocour directed several short films, including Kitchen (2005), selected in Competition at Cannes. She directed her first feature film, Augustine (2011), selected for the Semaine de la Critique and nominated for the Best First Film César. Her second feature Disorder (2015), with Matthias Schoenaerts and Diane Kruger, was presented in the Official Selection (Un Certain Regard). She co-wrote Mustang (2016) with Deniz Gamze Ergüven, Best Screenplay at the César and represented France at the Oscars, and Cuties by Maïmouna Doucouré. Her film Proxima (2019) with Eva Green and Matt Dillon received awards at the Toronto and San Sebastián film festivals. In 2022, she co-wrote Lost Country by Vladimir Perišić. Her second to last feature Paris Memories (2022), shortlisted to represent France at the Oscars, earned Virginie Efira the César of best actress, and makes her win the Alice Guy Prize as best director.
