After starting out in café-théâtre, Pierre Salvadori worked as a scriptwriter for TV before writing his first film script in 1989. Four years later this became Cible émouvante where a still unknown Guillaume Depardieu played alongside Jean Rochefort and Marie Trintignant. "Pierre Salvadori is full of dark humour and rich gags. The total immorality of the subject is combined with a joyful pastiche of the film noir and the Melvillian samurai-killer. But it is not just a film immersed in healthy disrespect, the director also gives us an ode to freedom" (Philippe Ortoli).
