Tim Ewalts
Emily just started her job as a telephone psychic for a morally ambiguous spiritual callcenter. Emily herself isn’t a particularly spiritual person. Her readings follow a carefully thought out script and are vague at best. In a series of conversations with callers from varying walks of life, she discovers that perhaps there is something spiritual inside or around her after all.

Tim Ewalts is a young filmmaker from the Netherlands. He studied film the at KASK art college in Ghent. He graduated with the short film Undergrowth (2022), which premiered at the Palmsprings Shortfest and was selected for the Talents to Cannes Programme. In his films, Tim often focuses on the perspective of outsiders in an attempt to find a common humanity. He isn’t interested in social commentary or moralizing but instead he just observes. His films are visually distinctive, with a big emphasis on sounddesign and music. They are often best described as moody, nostalgic and melancholy films that combine drama with touches of deadpan comedy.
