In 1560, a Spanish expedition leaves the Peruvian highlands ventures deep into the Amazon rainforest in search of the mythical Eldorado. The undertaking was insane, but Aguirre, the second-in-command, refused to give up. He overthrows his leader and takes charge of the group.
