Samuel Theis
2021 - France - 1h35

Screenings : friday 28 - 8:30 pm - Grand Théâtre - presented and followed by a debate with Samuel Theis
Johnny is 10. But he's only interested in what adults are doing. In his housing project in the Lorraine, he avidly observes his mother's frenetic love life.
This year he's in Mr Adamski's class, a young teacher who believes in him and who helps him to open the door to a new world.
Samuel Theis
Samuel Theis was born in 1978 and studied drama at the École Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre in Lyon. He then went on to the scriptwriting workshop at La Fémis before making his first feature, Party Girl, inspired by his mother's life.
On the border between documentary and fiction, his family members play their own roles. The film was co-directed with Marie Amachoukeli and Claire Burger, and opened
Un certain regard à Cannes in 2014, winning the Caméra d'or.
Samuel Theis is also an actor and stage director.
Petite Nature, produced by Caroline Bonmarchand, is his second short film.
