avertissement

Lou travels through Los Angeles at night listening to the police radio frequencies on the lookout for exciting images that he can sell to local TV stations at a really high price.
Night Call, Dan Gilroy's first film as a director, focuses on sensational media looking to capitalise on the violence and crime that prevails in the city. The unhealthy voyeurism of television channels that maintain an atmosphere of fear just so that they can sell more advertising space is a subject of great interest to the Gilroy. Jake Gyllenhaal plays Lou and appears as a new figure who “(...) finds himself as an indicator of the pre-existing and more or less openly confessed immorality of the characters he meets, who will each try, in their own way, to embark on the new path he opens up.” (Adrien Mitterand, Critikat)
