An internationally renowned actress with more than 70 films to her credit with prestigious directors such as Jean-Luc Godard, Jacques Doillon, André Téchiné, Leos Carax, Louis Malle, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Anthony Minghella, Patrice Leconte, Jean-Paul Rappeneau, Michael Haneke, John Boorman, Abel Ferrara, Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Amos Gitaï, Cédric Klapisch, Olivier Assayas, Abbas Kiarostami, David Cronenberg, Bruno Dumont, Claire Denis, Naomi Kawase and Hirokazu Kore-Eda. 

She has regularly won awards including a César and an acting award in Venice for Three Colours: Blue by Krzysztof Kieslowski, an Oscar and an acting award in Berlin for The English Patient by Anthony Minghella and an acting award in Cannes for Certified Copy by Abbas Kiarostami. 

In December Juliette Binoche will receive the European Achievement in World Cinema award for the whole of her career.

Discovered in 2007 in Angers with his short film, Banquise (Ice Flow), Swiss animation director Claude Barras gained international success with his first feature, Ma vie de Courgette (My Life as a Courgette). Co-written by Céline Sciamma, the film was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes in 2016 and won two César (Best animated Film and Best Adapted Scenario), the Grand Prix and the Award Audience at the Annecy Film Festival and an Academy Award nomination.
