In the heart of the Tibetan high plateaux, photographer Vincent Munier took writer Sylvain Tesson on a quest for the snow leopard. He initiated him in the delicate art of working from a hide, reading tracks and how to get the patience needed to get a glimpse of the animals. On their journey through the peaks inhabited by invisible presences, the two men weave together a dialogue on our place in the living world and celebrate the beauty of the world.
Marie Amiguet is a biologist by training and a graduate of the Master's on Animal Filming (IFFCAM). She filmed La Vallée des loups with Jean-Michel Bertrand, and directed Avec les loups, a portrait of Jean-Michel Bertrand. Vincent Munier, photographer, filmmaker and publisher, met her in 2017. Together they made Le Silence des bêtes, a pamphlet against lynx poaching. They then went to Tibet to film the encounter with writer Sylvain Tesson and photographer Vincent Munier. Following this journey, Sylvain Tesson wrote La Panthère des neiges (Gallimard 2019), which won the 2019 Prix Renaudot.
