Un, deux, trois, soleil
Bertrand Blier

Victorine, a young woman from the outskirts of Marseille, is trying to grow up between a possessive and infantile mother, and an incapable alcoholic father incapable of recognising his offspring. Her hopes of a peaceful life and gentle love seem to appear when she encounters Petit Paul. But this is just the first step on the path into adult life. There is still a long way to go...

After Merci la vie Bertrand Blieronce again worked with AnoukGrinberg in Marseille, for a film exploring a diverse metaphorical neighbourhood, without direction or love. Violence, unemployment, racism, exclusion, resignation, he tells the story of the neighbourhood through a girl filming children, teenagers and adults without worrying about chronology or realism, focusing on and reversing the subject's intrinsic clichés. "But, unusually for him, he finally dares to give free rein to his emotion. The sun in the title is not only the sun of the nursery rhyme, it is also the sun which illuminates the slums of the outskirts of Marseille. But above all the sun shining on new tenderness" (Bernard Génin).
