"Sporting an outlandish hairstyle and with a wild look in his eyes, Mads Mikkelsen plays the brother of a gangster suffering from a dissociative disorder and insists on being called John, like John Lennon. The film takes an extraordinary turn when during a bout in a psychiatric hospital the brother is advised to reform The Beatles with the help of other mentally ill patients, in order to adapt reality to his current state of mind meaning he could recover a fragment of memory that would be very useful in retrieving the loot. Beyond the suspense surrounding the money, the strength of Anders Thomas Jensen’s screenplay lies in the fact that he maintains a consistently high standard of comedy thanks to this sensitive supporting role. Manfred, already afflicted with certain quirks (such as stealing dogs…) when he isn’t being called John, attempts to commit suicide without warning, anywhere and everywhere, by throwing himself out of a car or out of a window…" (Olivier Bachelard; abusdecine.com)
