Le Meraviglie

It is the end of summer in an Umbrian village. Gelsomina lives with her parents and her three younger sisters in a run-down farm where they produce honey. Deliberately kept cut off from the world by their father growing up on the fringes of society, who predicts that the end of the world is nigh and who extols being close to nature. However, the strict rules which have kept the family together are tested by the arrival of Martin, a young delinquent who is there on a rehabilitation programme, and by the shooting of "Village Wonders", a television competition which has invaded the region.
