Shivers

An interactive, playful and evolving installation by Adrien M.

Presented by the Collégiale St-Martin – Maine-et-Loire Department
""In this work, I imagine a shiver as that fragile line of tension between the visible and the invisible, the concrete and the intangible, sensation and emotion. Here, it becomes matter: a minute movement that connects, that unsettles, that brings about. A shiver in the code, a shiver in the light, a shiver between bodies. A sensor system (a lidar network) detects points of contact with the floor; this data is used to animate the choreography of the particles, interacting with the audience. Do two people come together? The flow of energy between them will gradually increase until they separate, at which point the particles will swarm across the walls and up to the ceiling. The dramaturgy is a slow evolution of the physical and social rules governing the particles over the course of about fifteen minutes. There is neither a beginning nor an end, but a perpetual cycle of renewal. It is a theatre of living matter in which everyone can discover, through play and contemplation, their place within the grand narrative of movement."" Adrien M
