To say that Weapons of Death, as the film is known in English, is conducted at breakneck speed" would be something of a euphemism. The action and pace are not merely complementary elements to the narrative, serving as highlights or turning points; they are, in themselves, a genuine mechanism of writing and staging, an end in themselves. Napoli Spara! is built entirely on bravura set pieces, "ideas" of sequences designed to make an impression on the viewer, who is rarely, if ever, given a moment’s rest. Gone is the psychology, as is usual in this genre, replaced by moments of great cinematic flair – the train robbery, the shootout on the armoured car, the car chase through the streets of Naples, the final sequence at the station – which, coupled with the natural pessimism of the genre, make this crime thriller an experience of fast-paced cinema, a definite quality of any crime B-movie."
