La Mosquitera
Agustí Vila

Born in 1961 in Barcelone, Agustí Vila becomes a director for Catalan television (TV3) after graduating in Spanish philology at the Universitat Barcelona. He directed the short film Abreme la puerta ! and wrote the theater piece La Ventana Cerrada before directing La mosquitera. The film is about a well-off urbain family whose members are all victims of an obscure feeling of guiltiness; the mother towards her son, the father towards the maid, and the son towards any form of life, in particulary his cats and dogs. Life protected by the mosquito net keeps them from minor dangers, and reduces major dangers. The film is a comedy about the impossibility of tragedy.
