WithTenue de soirée, at a time traumatised by the appearance of the AIDS virus, Bertrand Bliergives us a blunt film on homosexuality and cross-dressing, mixing great sensitivity with very raw situations and dialogues. He returns to the ménage à trois which he likes so much and calls on Miou-Miouand Gérard Depardieu, twelve years after Les Valseuses (Going Places), with Michel Blanc, and his explosive femininity (Best Actor Award in Cannes marking a turning point towards more serious roles in his career). Along with a wonderful soundtrack from Serge Gainsbourg, the film was Blier's second biggest success, helped by an ad campaign with the spicy slogan of "One Helluva Film!"
