This first film was an occasion for Etaix to familiarise himself with the techniques of cinema. "It's in the editing room that a few good souls came to his help and showed him how to judiciously cut a film. He smilingly tells us today that he hardly knew the difference between what was necessary to edit the image and the sound. But for him, technical questions, like the logistics of filmmaking, are necessary tools. They're only there to serve the idea" (R. Marx).
