Notes on Blindness is a global project, made up of documentary feature, short films and a virtual reality experience, all based on the audio diary of John Hull, Preofessor of theology and writer, who went blind in 1983 after several years of deteriorating eyesight. The 16 hours of recordings made by John Hull to help him understand and accept the upheaval in his life are a unique testament on blindness. The feature is a poetic and intimate narrative giving John Hull's development, from loss to rebirth passing through acceptance. An inner journey to the experience of blindness.

Peter Middleton and James Spinney are graduates in visual arts and English literature respectively. They have been working together for five years on several projects, from fiction, to documentaries, to commercials. They have made several short films adapted from the audio diary of John Hull, a British writer who went blind in the 1980s. In 2016, their first feature was released, also entitled Notes on Blindness, and won a Special Jury Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Best Documentary Award at the British Independent Film Awards. The same year they made the short film Radio H.
