My Mother's coat
Marie-Margaux Tsakiri-Scanatovits

                The mother of the director tells to her daughter her arrival in Athens during the 70's after the fall of the dictatorship. She discusses her struggle to adjust to the Greek mentality and to be accepted by her husband's family, her memories and her long lasting desire to move back to her hometown in Italy.

                Marie-Margaux Tsakiri-Scanatovits is an Italian and Greek film-maker and Illustrator based in London, who started working with Animation in 2005. Her interest in animation lead her to Kingston University of London, from where she graduated in 2008 with her film He Seemed Lovely. Moving straight to the Royal College of Art, she created there two more films: Eric, do you exist? and her graduation film My Mother's Coat  in 2010.
