I. T. - Immatriculation Temporaire
Gahité Fofana
When Mathias Lénault arrives in Guinea, he's seen as a "good little white boy". He has a big suitcase, books, a notebook and his vaccination record. But Mathias is not white, nor is he black. His French parents, who moved to Fria during the 60s, are both white. Mathias is mixed, and he is looking for his Guinean gather. After being roughly robbed of his things, Mathias meets a "resistor", small time crook, and self-proclaimed specialist in "social affairs" John Tra, and his sister Rama. With them he finds his birthplace, Fria, a city constructed by Péchiney to mine the region's bauxite. He discovers an indifferent and violent Africa, very different from the quaint image usually depicted...
