Blind Chance describes Witek's three possible destinies. The same character, with the same personality, lives at the same time three variants of the same existence. "Blind Chance was an important step for Kieslowski. He moved beyond realism and turned towards the philosophical fable. But this film, so close to the truth it becomes painful, wasn't completed by December 13, 1981, and missed finding its audience. Then cold-war communism was reinstated. Kieslowski made his film 10 years too early" (T. Sobolewski).
