After being gone for ten years, Hamro returns to his hometown Asht to stay with his dying mother Halima. But in reality, this is a trick: Halima is perfectly healthy, and Hamro owes money to nearly everyone in the village. Menaced, cornered, only a miracle can save him. But Hamro doesn't believe in miracles...

Djamshed Usmonov was born in Asht, Tadjikistan, in 1965. A graduate in theatre from the Duschambe School of the Arts, since 1986 he has directed, produced, written and edited fictions, animation films and documentaries. In 2000, he played the main role in The Road by Darezhan Ormibaev. From 1991 to 2000, he directed a medium-length film, The Well , and in 1998 he co-directed his first feature-length film Flight of the Bee (Parvoz-e zanbur) with Min Boung Hun, selected for the 1999 edition of the Premiers Plans Film Festival.
