Leonid Burlaka's films were seen by millions of people in Ukraine during and after the Soviet era. Now suffering from dementia, his memory is fading. His works are scattered in old warehouses. Until the day his grandson Igor, a young director of photography, finds Leonid's forgotten and damaged stills.

Igor Ivanko was born in 1992 in Odesa, Ukraine. He graduated from Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television obtaining a Masters in Cinematography in 2016. Since 2014 Igor has worked as a cinematographer with the BABYLON'13 documentary filmmakers collective, filming during the Maidan protests and the Russo-Ukrainia war. Fragile Memory is his debut documentary feature film.
