Antoine Cuypers

During a family meal, 30-something Cédric, who still livesw with his parents, learns that his sister is expecting a child. While everyone is happy about this news, it gives him feeling that will soon become furious. He tries to show everyone else the prejudice he feels he has always been a victim of.

“With Préjudice I wanted to explore what makes the identity of a family, with the rapports de force which exist between the individuals that make it up. Along with this I have wondered about the notion of normality for a long time: where is the norm, where and when do deviation appear? Then there was the enclosed space and the constraints of tragedy made it possible to give a dense and symbolic treatment of the characters, of the links binding them. And all of this without necessarily taking sides so as to respect the complexity which governs human relationships, allowing the viewer the freedom to question and to find their own answers”.
