Iman and his young brother Payar live with their father in a neighbourhood in northern Teheran. After the death of his mother, Iman tried at all costs to leave the family home and make the most of the special relationships he has with the rich young things of Teheran to start a lucrative trafficking scheme. But what appeared to be a new departure drags them into a spiral which will turn their future upside down.

Born in Teheran in 1979, Emad Aleebrahim Dehkordi lives and works between France and Iran. After graduating from Le Fresnoy, he developed his own aesthetic playing with the codes of cinema and contemporary art. He has made two fiction shorts, Lower Heaven (2017) and Cavalière (2020), selected notably by the festivals of Toronto, Clermont-Ferrand and the Festival Premiers Plans. Chevalier noir, his first feature, was selected for the 2022 San Sebastián Festival (in the New Directors section) and won the Étoile d'Or at the 2022 Marrakech Festival. The screenplay was developed at the Ateliers d'Angers in 2018.
