Superman, courts métrages des années 40

Dave Fleischer, Max Fleischer
1941 - United States - 10mn

Before the destruction of the planet Krypton, a little cradle is sent to Earth. In it is, Kal-el, a baby who is taken in by a farming couple from Kansas. Some years later, the young man hides his superhuman strength and superpowers behind the identity of Clark Kent, a journalist a Metropolis's Daily Planet. Alongside Lois Lane, Clark investigates the criminals threatening the Earth's security, neutralising them in the guise of Superman.
The Superman cartoons from the Fleischer Studios (belonging to brothers Max and Dave) ran from 1941 to 1943. This is the first series of animated Technicolor short films on the Man of Steel from DC Comics. In all 17 animated shorts were made for two studios using rotoscoping, meaning the animators drew on the film of real-life actors actually performing.
