In 2019, the ArjoWiggins paper mill at Bessé-sur-Braye in the Sarthe region of France is to go into receivership. 700 jobs will disappear in this rural community of 2,000 inhabitants. This film tells the story of the life, death and rebirth of a rural industry in the ManiKheir factory, a metamorphosis that brings both hope and uncertainty.

The Premiers Plans Festival is joining forces with Ici Pays de la Loire to screen a documentary film made in the region and supported by Ici Pays de la Loire. The film is part of France 3's regional network programme, La France en vrai, which deals with a range of social issues and provides an opportunity to broadcast stories that are written and told as close to home as possible.
